About Our Client

The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) is an independent national service. Job Description

Has ownership for the organisations applications and databases, primarily Microsoft 365 and Azure hosted. Lead development; assessing and evaluating new products and features and implementing them as part of the ICT Strategy. Development, administration and support of Microsoft Technologies including: Dynamics 365, SharePoint and M365 suite to including bespoke applications built on technologies such Power Platforms and PowerApps. Act as subject matter expert for your specialist application and DB solutions. Contribute to the development and delivery of new application's and services to support the ICT strategy and meet Business Plan targets. Deliver training to other ICT areas such 2nd line. Provide supporting documentation as required, promoting best practice. Identifying and introducing improvements to the solutions and services, keeping systems current, enabling PHSO to deliver a high quality service. Engage and manage stakeholders across the organisation, to identify development needs and deploy solutions to meet them. Identify and address any architectural deficiencies. Assist when necessary the internal MI team on the development and creation of Business reports to key Stakeholders. Engage with and manage external suppliers and consultants during projects and delivery of new solutions. Development, Administration and Support of other key business systems as required. * Prioritise and manage Solutions Services support queue, providing accurate resolutions to requests and enquiries within defined SLAs. To produce appropriate documentation for all system changes and new developments, ensuring an up-to-date technical knowledge base on the organisation key business systems. Work closely with the Security, Data and Privacy team, you will contribute to improving consistency and effectiveness of the information and document management within PHSO. To ensure that all governance requirements defined by Security, Data and Privacy team are fully adhered to at all times. Maintain, develop and test security of all PHSO platforms and systems. Within the PHSO testing framework actively engage in system testing as defined by the Test manager and Framework. This includes but not limited to DR and regression testing.

To participate in learning & development activity and professional development as required in relation to the role. To contribute to an environment of continuous improvement and excellence. To provide excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders. To take decisions in accordance with the role's delegated authority under the casework and/or non-casework delegation schemes. To ensure all legislative, regulatory, policy, process, procedures and guidance requirements of PHSO are adhered to and appropriately evidenced to the role's line manager. To promote and support the PHSO's vision and values. To complete any other duties commensurate with the role.

The Successful Applicant

Experience Extensive experience of Microsoft technologies:, M365 suite, Power Platform, Power Apps, Azure, SharePoint online, SQL Server and Power BI. Worked in an ICT team previously at 2nd / 3rd line application support. Worked in an ITIL aligned ICT team, or knowledge of ITIL / Service Management. * Experience with M365 Configuration, troubleshooting and administration, such as SharePoint, Exchange and Teams. * Experience of Power Platform including Dynamics 365 configuration, development and support. * Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI. * Knowledge of Application Scripting, Power Automate and Powershell Experience of working with and managing third party suppliers.

Skills Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach. The ability to independently, be self-motivated and work under direction when required. Demonstrate dedication and a strong sense of customer service. When needed challenge against the norm Contributes towards continuous service improvement. Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders including those outside direct working relationships Good root cause analysis and problem solving skills.

Knowledge Knowledge of program languages and frameworks, such as TSQL, XML, HTML, PowerShell and OData . * Knowledge of SQL Databases both Cloud and IaaS hosted or other mainstream DB products. * Awareness of the different products in the Microsoft solutions suite.

Desirable An awareness of public administration (central government in particular) or the NHS and the context in which it operates. Information Technology ("IT") Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certificate in IT Service Management (Foundation) is desirable.
